Strengths Based Leadership Coaching & Training

Become a more effective leader by learning how to leverage your top leadership strengths! Utilizing Gallup’s definition of strengths-based leadership, you will be focusing in on that intersection of what your strengths are and what you love to do as your job. Strengths-based leadership is a result of decades of worldwide research, which found that people using strengths every day have some significant advantages – being more productive in their role, more engaged at work, do what they do best every day, as well as have an excellent quality of life. Gallup research by Clifton, who later became the head of Gallup, proves that focusing on strengths is essential to creating an exceptional culture. That is why more than 90% of Fortune 500 companies use this tool. People who know their Clifton Strengths achieve goals better, are confident, feel happy and energetic, and are treated with respect. Their work performance can increase up to almost 20%.

Individuals should take the Clifton Strengths assessment found on the Gallup website or in the book “Discover your Clifton Strengths-finder 2.0 from Gallup by Tom Rath” before the coaching or training. Codes can also be purchased online without the book.

Cindy Biggs is a certified CTI trained coach who has received CCEUs for her International Coaching Federations certification from Gallup’s strengths-based leadership conference at their world headquarters. She has worked with Clifton strengths in the workplace and individually with clients and teams and in trainings for over 10 years.

Emotional Intelligence Training

This training carves out the time for employees, teams and individuals to start the journey of harnessing the power of the number one predictor of professional success and personal excellence: Emotional Intelligence (EQ). This training is based upon the book, Emotional Intelligence 2.0 by Bradberry and Greaves Each participant will take an assessment with a code at the back of their book before the training and their score profile will uncover the EQ skills that you need to improve the most. We will discuss the impact of EQ and understand the four emotional intelligence skills that pair up under personal and social competency. Emotional intelligence impacts our behavior and relationships, including how we manage behavior and navigate social complexities, and make decisions that achieve positive results.

EQ accounts for 58% of performance in all types of jobs and is the single biggest predictor of performance in the workplace and the strongest driver of leadership and personal excellence. By the end of the training, each employee will have developed an action plan for improvement and assessment. The assessment can be repeated online, to determine progress on chosen strategies later.

Emotional intelligence is responsible for as much as 80% of the “SUCCESS” in our lives and is the single biggest predictor of performance in the workplace and the strongest driver of leadership and personal excellence. By the end of the training, each employee will develop an action plan for improvement and assessment. The assessment can be repeated online, to determine progress on chosen strategies later.

  • Communication and Personality Types
  • Authentic Leadership
  • Employee Engagement: Know What it Takes
  • COACHING Works!
  • Giving Honest and Clear Feedback.

I have gained valuable insights into my reactions and interactions in day to day life by working through the Emotional Intelligence training… it was evident that I had a strong awareness of both my own and other’s emotions, but I was not skilled at managing my reactions to either of them well. I spent the next eight months focusing on strategies that would help me improve my two lowest scores.

Attending EQ check ins became something I looked forward to as they offered an opportunity to share what was working, what was not, and learn from other’s successes. Cindy asks great questions and is honest and thoughtful in her feedback. Her skill set and years of experience were crucial in making my training experience a success. She is not afraid to ask the difficult questions that help people grow.

Eight months after taking the initial assessment I retook it and was pleasantly surprised with the results. On a scale of 100, my lowest score jumped 22 points from a 63 to an 85 and my second lowest jumped ten points from 77 to 87. This training has proven invaluable for not only my career but my personal life as well.

Emotional Intelligence is an excellent indicator of success and anybody willing to be intentional with their training can take steps toward positive change.

I would not be where I am today if it weren’t for Cindy Biggs. Over the course of a year, Cindy helped me to develop my leadership skills through her coaching/mentoring.

She introduced me to StrengthsFinder which turned out to be a true passion for me and lead me to become a Certified Strengths Coach. She’s allowed me the opportunity to, “try on” different roles. I helped her with a few of her workshops which gave me the confidence that I needed at the time.

Cindy’s coaching is insightful and allowed me ways toward a better understanding of myself and has lead to many positive results in my life. She’s trustworthy and supportive. I felt like she was my biggest advocate. I’m at a whole different place in my life now thanks to Cindy

I would like you to know that I appreciate what you do… I am better at my job.

During our coaching sessions I could hear and feel the energy from you. I have been in leadership so long that I had forgotten what it felt like to get admiration for a job well done. This motivated me even more to make sure that everyone I come in contact with get the praise and the pat on the back they deserve after doing a good job. Thanks!

My Approach to Coaching

You set the agenda. At the onset of each call or meeting, you update me on your progress from our last session and discuss what your specific item is that you want to work on in this session.

Throughout a coaching relationship I will ask direct questions that relate to what is going on with you. I will intrude. I will call it. I will ask you to take action when you have chosen an objective, and I will hold you accountable for the actions that you commit to. As a seasoned professional, mentor to many, trainer and co-active coach, you can tap into my expertise as we work together as a team to create a coaching alliance that will help you stay focused and move forward toward your chosen goals.

Everything is confidential. That means that I will not release information nor discuss anything about our coaching sessions to anyone without your permission, even if your employer is paying for them.

How often do we have coaching sessions? Do we meet in person or over the phone?

Coaching with Cindy generally STARTS with a minimum of two coaching sessions per month, in person or by phone. Cindy will design a coaching package to best meet your needs and agenda, consisting of:

  • Coaching resources, tools, and worksheets to support you on your journey
  • Email support between sessions
  • Leadership StrengthsFinder 2.0 assessment
  • Incentives for new client referrals
  • Free 15 minute “power calls” throughout the month
  • Convenient invoice billing with PayPal or other upfront
  • Generally, a minimum three month commitment.

Depending upon your topic, or your experience with coaching, sessions can also be determined one at a time, on an “as needed” or regular basis. Many of Cindy’s individual clients have coached with her for a number of years with varying degrees of regularity.

We work with clients both by phone and in-person. Some clients prefer coaching on the phone because it fits in their work day and does not involve any travel. There are additional charges for time and travel to meet in person.
