My Story
Cindy started working full time at her own business, C. Biggs and Associates in 2012 after making a commitment to be an entrepreneur and focus on her top leadership strengths.
She is a former trainer for supervisors and managers and executive coach for The Ohio State University- ATI -Department of Business Training and Educational Services. Cindy is also formerly a Turning Learning into Action Associate for Lever- Transfer of Learning, an international company based in Australia working with large international companies such as Walmart, Oracle, Cisco, Tate and Lyle, and Endo Pharmaceutical.
She was a CEO for Planned Parenthood of North Central Ohio for 20 years and the Vice President of Organizational Development for 5 years after taking a lead on architecting a 5-way merger in NE Ohio to create a large, regional non-profit- Planned Parenthood of NE Ohio based in Akron.
In 2012, she completed the Coaches Training Institute professional co-active coaching program and completed her certification recognized by the International Coaching Federation. She works with companies and individuals on her own to conduct:
- Leadership, supervisory, and team training
- Supervisor Development Training
- Strengths-based leadership training
- Emotional Intelligence training
- Mentoring program facilitation
- SEE BIGG! leadership retreats
Cindy has managed the professional mentoring program and facilitates a managing and leveraging training series for the Women’s Network of NE Ohio (now the Women’s Leadership Institute at the Akron Chamber of Commerce). Cindy is an Executive Coach for Linked In’s PROFINDER program.
Cindy is the recipient of the first Leadership Wooster Alumni Award, Athena Award, and Women of Achievement Award in Wooster, Tribute to Women in Business award in Mansfield, and Grassroots Honoree for the Ohio League of Women Voters. Cindy received a fellowship to work with the national League of Women Voters in Washington, DC, and served as an intern for Family Planning International Assistance in Guyana, South America. She also worked with the Family Planning Association leaders in Trinidad and Tobago.
As a volunteer, she has done support group coaching for clients at OneEighty, the local integrated health system that offers domestic violence services. Cindy has worked with local women leaders in Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras to help meet their leadership development needs through CAMO, a local non-profit that provides Central America Medical Outreach and community development work. Cindy has also been a coach for the Women for Change coaching community. She is a former and current co-President and Candidate’s Night moderator for the League of Women Voters of Wayne County.
Cindy grew up in Hartville and Akron, Ohio and graduated from the University of Akron with a BA, magna cum laude. She took Master’s level coursework in Education at the University of Akron and MBA coursework at Ashland University.
She lives in Wooster, Ohio with her husband, Jeff, cat Colt, and spends lots of time at their 100 acre farm/log home in Howard, Ohio.
