Meet the Expert


Cindy Biggs, CPCC

Cindy J. Biggs is a CPCC-certified professional co-active coach and consultant and a leadership development expert. At the age of 29, Cindy became an executive director for Planned Parenthood of North Central Ohio, leading the organization in several integral roles for two decades. In 2007, she was named Vice President of Innovations and Integration and led the integration initiative for the first five-way Planned Parenthood-affiliate merger in the United States. The following year, as the new Vice President of Organizational Development, she managed human resources for 15 Planned Parenthood locations in 21 Ohio counties, acting as both strategic planning officer and leadership development expert. Cindy designed the agency culture by establishing employee-driven values and instituting processes and systems to support them. She led special project and task force initiatives, created a national award-winning mentoring program for The Leadership Institute and both created and conducted numerous manager training programs.

An experienced and well-known facilitator and moderator, Cindy began a private consulting practice on a very part time basis in 1995. In 2012, Cindy started to work full time as President of C. Biggs and Associates as a way to focus fully on her leadership strengths. She serves as a Trainer/Executive Coach/Consultant for Business Training and Educational Services at The Ohio State University/ATI, in Wooster, Ohio. She is co-founder of SHE SHOWS UP!, a movement to empower women who strive to be excellent leaders to become authentic, engaged, and intentional as "SHE SHOWS UP" through a fully integrated life. She now conducts SEE BIGG! RETREATS leadership retreats to help employees focus on investing in themselves, establishing great communication skills to invest in others, AND become something BIGGer than themselves in order to become an excellent leader. She is an Executive Coach/Turning Learning into Action Specialist/Mentoring program facilitator for Lever Transfer of Learning out of Australia. Cindy coaches people who want to be excellent leaders using StrengthsFinder 2.0 assessments to help individuals and teams to focus on identifying leadership strengths, maximizing teams, and increasing employee engagement. She also serves as the mentoring program facilitator for Women's Network of Northeast Ohio.

Cindy is the recipient of many professional awards and recognitions, including the Wooster Women of Achievement award, the ATHENA award, and the inaugural Leadership Wooster Alumni award. Active in the community. She has shared her time and talent as a founding board member of the Viola Startzman Free Clinic; president of the Wayne County Women's Network; co-facilitator of the Leadership, Education, and Direction (LEAD) program for Lincoln Way Elementary sixth graders; president and Candidate's Night moderator for the Wayne County League of Women Voters; "Wooster Voices" columnist for the Wooster Daily Record; and a Leadership Institute associate for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

As a volunteer, she is a group coach for Every Woman's House, the local battered women's shelter, and helps facilitate "We Believe in You" day for junior high school girls through the local Women's Network. Cindy is a mentor through the College of Wooster's "Worthy Questions" mentoring program, and a group mentor through Women's Network of Northeast Ohio. In October, 2015, Cindy took her first trip to Honduras to work with local women leaders in Santa Rosa de Copan and has worked with them to create and present a leadership development retreat through CAMO, a local non-profit that provides Central America Medical Outreach and community development work.

Cindy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, magna cum laude, from the University of Akron, and she is a former certified Family Life Educator and a former licensed social worker. In her post-graduate work, Cindy received a fellowship to work with the League of Women Voters in Washington, D.C. and, in her role as CEO for Planned Parenthood of North Central Ohio, interned with Family Planning International Assistance in Guyana, South America and spearheaded a Global Partnership with the Family Planning Association of Trinidad and Tobago. In 2012, Cindy completed the Coaches Training Institute professional co-active coaching program and received her certification, which is recognized by the International Coaching Federation in 2012.
